4 TIPS FOR TRANSITIONING TO A MONTESSORI FLOOR BED

START WITH NAP TIME

Before making the full transition to a floor bed at night, try starting with nap time. This will give your child a chance to get used to their new sleeping arrangement during the day before tackling night-time sleep.

ESTABLISH A BEDTIME ROUTINE

Maintaining a consistent bedtime routine can help your child feel more secure and relaxed during the transition. Include activities like reading a story, singing a lullaby, or cuddling to help your child wind down and prepare for sleep.

BE PATIENT

Remember that any big change can take time to adjust to. Be patient and allow your child to get used to their new sleeping arrangement at their own pace. It may take a few nights or even weeks before they fully transition to the floor bed.

CREATE A SAFE SLEEP ENVIRONMENT

Make sure your child’s sleeping area is safe and free of hazards. Consider adding a soft rug or mat around the bed to cushion any falls.
